An Advance Payment Inmate Phone Service
V-Connect is an organization that offers its prepaid advance service system for helping prisoners in jails or other such institutions to contact their near and dear ones in which the family pays in advance for the inmate collect calls. The inmates can call up these numbers in case the particular number has been restricted by their institution.
In various cases, inmates may not be able to make collect calls directly as the telephone company might have placed blocks. The VAC or Value Added Communication sometimes does not allow them to avail this service from the local telephone companies as the billing contract is not there. If the monthly billing limit has been reached by the inmate, then the VAC does not allow the local phone company to provide them the service and his account is suspended. In such cases, the inmate can take help from V-Connect and avail of inmate call collect services provided by their Advance Pay system.
The family member or friend can receive calls from the inmate of any correctional institute and he can pay with the Advance Pay account service even if it has been denied earlier. A prepaid account balance must be set up with them and when the collect calls are accepted the call cost along with any other taxes are reduced from the account balance. You can make the payments by credit cards, debit cards, check, or money order. A transaction fee must also be paid. The inmate collect calls are charged based on the location of the phone number and its distance from the facility.
The fids are changed if the inmate is shifted to another facility so long as V-Connect has a base there or else a refund of the prepaid amount balance is made. If no calls are made for a month then a $4.95 fee is charged per month beginning from the completion of 180 days of stagnancy and will stop once the call resumes or if the prepaid amount is over.
With the help of Visa or MasterCard an account can be set up with a minimum of $25 and a maximum of $100 with a transaction amount of $7.95 added. In case of money orders, this is waived. You can also contact 1 800 -913 -6097 and make payments.
